Vera Iris Coyote

A graveside service for Towaoc resident Vera Iris Coyote will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Towaoc Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 between 5-7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel in Cortez, CO.  

Vera was born January 18, 1938 in Towaoc, CO the daughter of Oyama Coyote and Iris Salt. She passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Mercy Regional Medical Center at the age of 85. 

Surviving Vera are her children Carolyn Coyote, Annette Lopez, and Brian Coyote of Towaoc, CO and Aaron Coyote of Springfield, MO; numerous grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her children Ramus Lopez Jr and Cassandra Lopez; and her brother, Willie Coyote.
