IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Valerie Lynn
Hurst
September 26, 1963 – December 20, 2025
Lynn Hurst passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 62. She was laid to rest on December 23, 2025, at her home, surrounded with love by her family and friends.
Born in Cortez, Colorado, Lynn grew up making everlasting impressions. Numerous days spent outdoors, playing and fighting with her neighbors, cousins, and siblings. She enjoyed twirling the baton. In 7th grade she met her lifelong friend, with whom many shenanigans were had from then on. As the oldest of 6 kids, she was often found transporting them around or taking them with her wherever she went.
Lynn met her husband of 43 years at the Copy Cat in Durango and they were married December 24, 1982. Together they raised 3 children, battling together through hardships, overjoyed together in all the blessings, and laughed, cried, and loved together through it all.
Generous, loving, and caring barely brush the surface of the person that Lynn was. She loved God, her family, and this country. Lynn was very patient, kind, compassionate, devoted, free spirited, and definitely a stubborn woman. She never hesitated and gave her all to take care of everyone else. She was always volunteering to help with everything from baby showers, weddings, being there for births, making and taking family to appointments, running never-ending errands, and much more. She took on impossible challenges, and with determination she was successful.
Lynn loved being outside, it kept her grounded. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her siblings, friends, family and husband especially at her brother’s “Pond Parties”, and she also enjoyed being a part of the local patriot group.
Lynn was extremely proud of her grandchildren and counted them each as such a blessing. She supported them in all their activities, academics, interests, and games. She attended and participated in countless dinners, trips, conversations, congratulated, and games where she would cheer everyone one on. She congratulated them on achievements, and by everything she did for everyone. She found immense joy and peace in going rock hunting, crafting, sewing, outdoor projects, gardening and sharing it with her children and grandchildren.
Lynn is survived by her husband Shane Hurst; Children Gary (Jamie) Hurst, Kamber (Zac) Box, and Niki (Dustin) Wilkerson. Her siblings Ronie Noyes, Darren (Eilene) Noyes, Sheri Noyes, and Gary (Pepper) Noyes; her mother Mary Ann Noyes; her grandchildren Madysen (Brandon) Pruitt, Destiny Kramer, Payton Thomas, Chelsey Kramer, Colby Thomas, Paige Box, Randy Kramer, Cooper Thomas, Summer Box, Milo Hurst, and Emery Wilkerson; and her great grandchild Rylee Pruitt. She was preceded in death by her sister Debbie (Mike) Mosher, dad Oliver Noyes, Father Ray Thomas, and grandparents Marvin (Louella) Noyes, James (Goldie) Thomas, Kenneth (Martha) Couch.
Lynn was loved by her family, friends, and friends who became her family. She was the rock of the family and had so much love for all of them. She will be greatly missed, cherished, and forever be in our hearts and prayers while watching over us all.
