Thelma Jane Yoder

December 12, 1932 — December 31, 2022

THELMA JANE (PALMER) YODER

Thelma Jane Palmer was born on December 12, 1932 to Floyd and Martha Palmer in Narvon, Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood in Beantown, PA with her 3 brothers (Jim, Richard, and Barney) and 1 sister (Peg).

Thelma married Raymond David Yoder in May of 1953. They settled in New Holland, PA, where she worked as a secretary. While there Thelma and Ray had two sons Ronald Ray, Jeffrey Lee, and one daughter Barbara Elizabeth who passed away the day after she was born. In 1972 they made the big move to Loveland, Colorado. Thelma worked as a secretary for St. Vrain Moving Company the whole time they lived in Loveland. In 1993 after both Thelma and Ray retired, they moved to Yellow Jacket Colorado to be closer to their son Jeff and their grandchildren.

After she retired Thelma spent her time volunteering at the local hospital gift shop, selling creative memories and doing crafts of all kinds. Scrapbooking, making cards, and crocheting were among her favorites. Every Thursday you would find a group of ladies at the Yoder’s house working on a variety of projects and having a grand time. Thelma and Ray loved making trips “back east” as often as they could to visit their family and friends that were in Pennsylvania.

Ray and Thelma (lovingly referred to as the “lovebirds” by a friend), shared 68 years of marriage. They have 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Thelma went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved Raymond on December 31, 2022.
