Ronnie Lue Ives was born February 28, 1950, in Cortez, Colorado to Carmen Ives (Hughes) and Harold Ives. Ronnie passed away peacefully at home with his wife Brenda and granddaughter Aidyn, at 12:02 a.m. on Friday October 2nd, 2026. Ronnie lived an extraordinary and very full life. He was a farmer, gold and uranium miner, Vietnam War Veteran and patriot, airplane pilot, limousine driver, satellite repairman, was on the Hesperus Ski Patrol, sailboat and pontoon boat captain, designed and built a massive passive solar home, ran a successful B&B, did Bobcat and dirt work, was a master scuba diver, handyman, crossword and puzzle aficionado, wedding officiant, cat lover, crocheted hundreds of blankets and stuffed animals for charity, world traveler, “botanist”, traveled cross country regularly, the life of the party, and was a husband and grandfather who loved his family deeply.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Brenda Belt Ives, daughters Laci and Tara, and his five grandchildren, Colin(28), Aidyn(25), Aspen(23), Keaton(18) and Matix(1), his sister, Connie Long, and aunt Mary Richardson, along with a very large extended family.
