Ronald Eugene Forseen

December 28, 1940 — November 21, 2021

Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Ronald “Ron” Eugene Forseen will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Arriola Bible Church. Pastor Craig Rutherford will officiate.
Ron was born December 28, 1940, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Ron died at Southwest Memorial Hospital, in Cortez, Colorado on November 21, 2021.
Ron dearly loved singing as an expression of worship and ministry. The songs he sang truly expressed his heart for the lord. He loved his wife, Bonnie and his boys. He loved the Colorado mountains, hiking and long drives through the mountains. In the fall he loved looking at the leaves. He hunted for many years, harvesting 18 elk. He also enjoyed the canyons of both Colorado and Utah where he worked for 30 years driving water trucks.
Ron left Squaw Lake, Minnesota, after high school to work in Chicago, Illinois and Seattle, Washington briefly before meeting Bonnie Bristol in Frisco, Colorado where they were married in 1963. Ron and Bonnie had two sons, Greg and Darrel. In 1969 they moved to Squaw Lake, Minnesota, where his youngest son Douglas was born. The family returned to Frisco and lived at the Columbine Ranch until 1983 when they moved to Cortez, Colorado, where he lived until his death.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie (Bristol); and his parents, Axel and Lydia Forseen. Ron is survived by his brother, LaRue (Ruth) Forseen; his sister, Kathy (Gary) Tjepkes; his sons, Gregory (Vivian), Darrel (Julie), Douglas Forseen; and 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
