Roberto Antonio Martinez

Roberto Antonio Martinez born on May 30, 1977, in Cortez, Colorado, and passed away on his 48th birthday, May 30, 2025. He lived most of his life in Dolores, Colorado, where he found peace and purpose.

Roberto had a deep love for music and enjoyed expressing his creativity through drawing. He also loved being outdoors, especially watching eagles, a favorite peaceful pastime. More than anything, Roberto cherished his family and valued every moment he had to spend with them.

He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Krystal Mathis, and his beloved son, Dorian Martinez. He is also survived by his mother, Marcella Beard, and his aunt Carmella, who raised him as her own son. Roberto leaves behind his brothers, Daniel Beard and James Beard, and his cousin Isaque Martinez, who was like a brother to him. He is also remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Roberto was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Margaret Martinez, his brother Rosendo Nelson, and his nephew Brecken Beard.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Lewis Arriola Community Center 2:00, located at 21176 County Road S. A procession will follow to the Dolores Summit Ridge Cemetery for the graveside service. A dinner will be held immediately afterward back at the Lewis Arriola Community Center.

Roberto will be remembered for his gentle spirit, creative soul, and the deep love he had for those around him. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
