A celebration of life for Robert L. Echerd will be held on June 21st at 1 pm at the Cortez Cemetery.

Robert (Bob) passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, joining his past loved ones who have moved on to their eternal home in Heaven.  Robert was surrounded by his devoted and loving wife, Ronda, and his two youngest daughters, Amber, and Erin. In God’s mercy and grace, Robert was able to see each of his daughter’s before he passed away. Robert has two older surviving daughters, Bobbi and Shannon, from past relationships.

Robert was born on August 6, 1945, in Webb City, MO to Lance and Ruth Echerd.  In 1963 he joined the Air Force and was later stationed in Scott AFB, Illinois.  He served one tour in Vietnam as a Medical Technician. It was when Robert was stationed at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA that he met the love of his life, Ronda (Springmeyer) Echerd. Their marriage produced two daughters, Amber, and Erin.

Bob retired from the Air Force in 1988 after serving for 40 years. Robert retired as a First Sergeant which was his favorite job in the Air Force. After retirement he was hired as an Air Force civilian Medical Readiness Technician. He retired from that post in 2007 when the family moved to Texas where he enjoyed retirement honing his golfing skills.  Robert’s favorite time to golf was in the summer when he played at the Pinto Bean Tournament within Cortez. He spent many happy hours golfing with his father-in-law (Alvin Springmeyer) and favorite brother-in-law, Rich Springmeyer.

Robert also enjoyed hunting in his earlier years but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his wife Ronda, daughters Amber Webster, Erin Sosa, Bobbi McDaniel and Shannon Gilman. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Echerd and his wife Dianne.  Robert has 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren who will all miss him dearly.  Robert is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him and will cherish the memories they have of him.
