Richard James Sanders was born September 29, 1939 in Paradox, CO the son of Benjamin Franklin and Lupita Sophia (Candelaria) Sanders. He passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, CO.
Surviving Richard are his loving spouse, Ellen Sanders of Cortez, CO; his children, Robert Venegas of Martinez, GA, Rita Higgins of Cortez, CO, Richard Sanders of Dolores, CO, and Tricia Heiney of Cortez, CO; 12 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Gene Sanders, and Roy Sanders.
