Mildred Alice Whyte

Funeral Mass for Cortez resident Mildred Alice Whyte will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Lorenzo Uribe will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery.
Mildred was born July 28, 1940 in La Boca, CO the daughter of George and Dolly (Black) Watts. She passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, CO at the age of 81.
Surviving Mildred are her children, Donald Whyte (Kristi) of Lakewood, CO, Melanie Garcia (Lambert) of San Felipe, NM, Fawnda Cotonuts of Towaoc, CO, Eric Whyte (Lorraine) of Mancos Creek, CO, Clyde Whyte (Susann) of Grand Junction, CO, Madonna Whyte of Towaoc, CO, and Valerie Whyte of Towaoc, CO; her sister, Georgia McKinley of Ignacio, CO; her brother-in-law, George Mills Jr. of Towaoc, CO; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Clifford Beecher Whyte; her step-children, Clifford Whyte Jr, Rose Marie Chavez, and Gordon Watts; and her siblings, Gladys Baker, Wilford Watts, Percy Black, and Olive Ojohn.
