Michael Joe Grilliett

A celebration of life for Cortez resident Michael Joe Grilliett will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Dolores Community Center.

Michael was born July 23, 1957 in Oakridge, OR the son of L.E. and Beverly Jean (Johnson) Grilliett. He passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Mercy Hospital at the age of 65.

Michael was retired from the truss industry after almost 40 years. He was dependable, independent, loved the outdoors and was known for his green thumb. He was “animal crazy”, a great coach and basketball player, and was very proud of his grandkids.

Michael is survived by his children Courtney Prescott (Harley) of Naches, WA, Gary Grilliett of Dolores, CO, and L.E. Grilliett of Sumner, WA; grandchildren Emily and Jaxon of Naches, WA; siblings Pamela Biehler (Doug) of Cortez, CO, Ray Grilliett (Marty) of Cortez, CO, Jeannie Covert of Tacoma, WA, Diane Dimercurio of Ocala, FL, and Brenda Bull of Dallas, TX.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley Grilliett; and brother Gary Grilliett.
