Obituary

Mary Lou was born Mary Louisa Pyle to Lloyd Carl Pyle and Rita Lucile (Saulters) on September 22, 1939. She left this earthly world for her heavenly home on October 6, 2026, at the age of 87. If you knew Mary Lou, then you knew she was a PROUD woman. You knew how much she loved her three sons and how incredibly proud she was of each one. You would also know, without any humility at all on her end, how proud she was of her grandchildren and how much she adored and loved them "To the Moon & Back." Mary Lou became "Nana" to them and many others. Mary Lou was very proud of her heritage as well, spending most of her childhood in Mancos. She had numerous stories of "who was who" and "who did what." Mary Lou worked at BOC Gases and was very professional and took pride in her work. She appreciated her employment there and truly enjoyed the work she did and the friendships she made. She retired after many years of dedication while earning herself a few awards. To hear of Mary Lou was to hear what a very stunning and beautiful woman she was...but to see her, was to know that she was.

Mary Lou is survived by her #3 son Robert Shawn Kirks (Rob) and his wife Jen, her daughter-in-law Sher Noyes Kirks, her grandchildren, Wylder Wilson, Wiley Kirks, Mayan Kirks (Phil), Weslie Kirks, Aura Kirks (Adam), her great-grandchildren, Scarlette and Samule Ogden, with one more arriving in June of 2027.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfathers Harold G. Bridgewater (Pa) and Richard K. Bowling, Sr. (Ink), her #1 son, William Randall Kirks (Randy), and her #2 son, Richard Marvin Kirks (Rick).

The family would like to thank everyone that had a hand in helping her these past few years, whether it was live in care or an overnight stay here and there, stopping by to visit or drop off food or needed items, help with a chore, taking her to town for fun or an appointment, or just giving her a call to check in, we genuinely appreciate each one of you. We would also like to thank the team at Vista Mesa Assisted Living and our local Hospice of Montezuma team and volunteers, we know it was comical some days and a true challenge on others. You are appreciated more than you vould ever know. A very special thank you to Jerrod, Blake, and Haven Hughes for your genuine kindness and friendship over the years.
