LENORA MAE NELSON

A celebration of life for longtime Cortez resident Lenora Mae Nelson will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Flanders Park in Dolores, Colo. Visitation has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel.

Lenora was born on March 8, 1933 the daughter of Floyd Milton and Sada Ethel (Murray) Barrick. She passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Junction Creek Health and Rehab Center in Durango, Colo. at the age of 89.

Surviving Lenora are her loving husband, Eldon Nelson of Durango, Colo.; her children, Steve Nelson (Vayna) of Phoenix, Ariz., Debbie Rogers of Cortez, Colo., Roger Nelson of Cortez, Colo., and Phillip Nelson of Cortez, Colo.; and by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Richard Nelson; and by her brother, Dale Barrick Sr.
