Lawrence S. "Larry" Douglas

LAWRENCE "LARRY" S. DOUGLAS Lawrence (Larry) S. Douglas passed January 3, 2012 at age 59 from colon cancer in Cortez, Colo. Larry lived, played and loved in Cortez, Durango, Colo., Lake Havasu, Ariz., Sedona, Ariz., and Petoskey, Mich. He loved being a firefighter, fire department Fire Captain, EMT and contractor and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter Heather McDonnell, son Chad Douglas, daughter Meredith Vassey; and grandson Preston Vassey. Also surviving are his sister Linda Peters, niece Sherry Ravagnie; brother Steve Douglas, brother Scott Douglas, Scott's wife Linda Douglas, nephews Tommy, Joey, Christopher Douglas, niece Chelsea Douglas and sister Jan Smith, her husband Phil Smith and niece Brittany Smith; dear friends Bob and Darla Sanders, Mike and Susanna Gaddy. His father Stan Douglas and mother Jean Douglas preceded Larry's passing. Larry was a wonderful man whose smile and twinkle will be greatly missed.
