Joseph John Grmolyes

February 16, 1970 — June 17, 2025

Dolores, Colorado

Joseph John Grmolyes, 55, of Dolores, Colorado, passed away suddenly at home on June 17, 2025. Born in Redondo Beach, California, on February 16, 1970, Joe lived a life defined by dedication, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family and friends.

Joe was a skilled painting contractor whose hard work and craftsmanship were known throughout the communities he served. Beyond his trade, he was a compassionate and selfless caregiver, especially to his mother, Judith Perry, whom he lovingly supported in her later years.

Joe had a deep love of candy, and those who knew him best will remember the sweet tooth that matched his gentle heart. His nieces and nephews affectionately called him “Uncle Candy,” a nickname that captured both his favorite treat and his playful, loving spirit. Whether sharing a laugh, a story, or a piece of candy, he brought light to the lives around him.

He is survived by his loving mother, Judith Perry; his brothers, Steven Grmolyes, Greg Grmolyes (wife Tawnya), and Michael Grmolyes (wife Christine); his nieces and nephews, Ange Bebbington, Brooklyn, Nick, Molly, and Brody; and many extended family members and friends who will miss his kindness, playful spirit, humor, and steady presence.

Joe will be remembered not only for his work ethic and generosity but also for the care he gave so freely to those he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Celebration of life to be announced in the future.
