Funeral services for life long Mancos resident Joel Ira ‘Joe’ Stevenson will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena. Mr. Glen Randol will officiate.
Joe was brought home from the hospital at birth to the exact property in which he still lived. He loved his childhood memories of his ranch and Mancos and never thought of living anywhere else.
Joe was born May 28, 1964 in Cortez, CO the son of Thomas George and Faye Lorene (Phillips) Stevenson. He passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO at the age of 57.
Surviving Joe are his loving wife, Sheree Stevenson of Mancos, CO; his children, Colette Cox of Cortez, CO, Chelsi Rosonke (Ben) of New Hampton, IA, Mary Jo Garcia (Tyrell) of Dolores, CO, Jodie Loyd (Jake) of Pleasant View, CO, Sam Williams of Golden, CO; his siblings, Gerrie Deltondo of Alamosa, CO, Sue Billings (Richard) of Grand Junction, CO, Stan Stevenson of Grand Junction, CO, Jimmy Collins (Brenda) of Phoenix, AZ, Deborah Huskey (Jerry) of Dolores, CO, Mike Stevenson of Mancos, CO; and his seven grandchildren, Austyn Rosonke, Eric Cox, Evan Cox, Arthur Garcia, Oryn Garcia, Whitley Loyd, and Payton Loyd. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jerry Collins.
