Frances Louise 'Fran' Buck

April 28, 1941 — January 6, 2020

A Celebration of Life will be held for Cortez resident Frances Louise ‘Fran’ Buck from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Fran was born April 28, 1941 in Newark, NJ the daughter of Andrew Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Gardner) Zacher. She passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living at the age of 78.
Fran was a loving mother and a supportive spouse. She adored her pet dogs, many of whom she rescued. She cared for her mother who moved to Cortez in the early 70's. Fran was active is many organizations over the years supporting her children in sports including the Cortez Swimming Team all the while working in real estate and at local optical shops. Her true calling was always in nursing where she could care and nurture those in need at Vista Grande Nursing Home and through Hospice of Montezuma. She also enjoyed ceramics and skiing. Although a quiet soul, she was loved by all who knew her for her generosity and love.
Surviving Fran are her spouse, George R. Buck Jr. of Cortez, CO; her children, George Buck III of Houston, TX, Kimberly Ann Martin of Livermore, CA, and Kari Lorraine Buck of Bayfield, CO; her sisters, Dorothea Jean Marshall of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; and six grandchildren. Fran was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Patricia Ann Clark.
