MARY EVELYN HICKS Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Hicks, 86 of Cortez will be held at Breckenridge Cemetery in Breckenridge, Texas later next week. Evelyn was born October 10, 1922 in Stephens County, Texas the daughter of Daniel Elmer and Cora B. (London) Bryant. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Thursday, April 2, 2009. Evelyn married Cleo Jackson Hicks on June 29, 2001 in Cortez. She loved reading books and playing Bridge. Surviving Evelyn are her husband, Cleo Hicks of Cortez; and extended family in Texas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Ann McGuire in May 2008.
