Elizabeth “Liz” (Libby) Curtis Anderson, age 70, passed peacefully from this earth on

July 15, 2026. She was born on December 17, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Marvin and

Birdie (Davidson) Curtis.

Liz grew up in a large, close-knit family where some of her happiest memories were

made. She cherished weekends and summers at Trinity Bay, riding her horses, Silver

and Trigger, taking road trips with her parents and grandparents, picnicking with cousins

at Lake Houston, attending Sunday school at Ralston Presbyterian Church, and

spending countless sleepovers with her beloved Memaw. She graduated with honors

from E.L. Furr High School in 1974.

That same year, Liz married and later welcomed two children, Brandy and Michael. She

loved her children and showed her devotion to them by spending time supporting them

in their various activities. She was a dance mom, football mom, and 4-H equestrian

mom. Her children always knew they could count on her love, encouragement, and

support.

Liz also enjoyed a successful professional career. She worked in a male dominated

profession at Hughes Tool in the early 1980s. Later she began working at Energy

Capital Credit Union, where she advanced from teller to Vice President of Marketing

through hard work and determination. Then alongside her second husband, Berry

Anderson, she co-owned and operated Preferred Floors, building both a business and a

life together.

Liz married Berry Anderson in 1996, and together they shared 17 wonderful years filled

with fishing trips to the bay, family gatherings, and doting on their shared grandchildren.

In 2004, they were baptized together at Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, a

reflection of their journey to faith. In 2006, Liz earned a degree in theology further

deepening her understanding of her faith. When Berry was diagnosed with cancer, Liz

devoted herself to caring for him with extraordinary love and strength until his passing.

This led to years of advocacy work for those fighting lung cancer and their families.

In 2016, Liz was blessed to find love and companionship again with Roger Crossley.

Together they retired to Canyon Lake, where they enjoyed live music, shuffleboard, RV

adventures with friends, and the peaceful beauty of the Texas Hill Country with their

rescue dogs. During Liz’s illness, Roger became her devoted caregiver, faithful

companion, and source of comfort until his passing in 2025.

Liz’s final months were spent with her family and caregivers. We have faith that she has

found her way home and is reunited with those that went before her and embraced by

the peace she longed for.

Liz will be remembered for her quick wit, fierce devotion to those she loved, and her

ability to make her friends feel like family. She was preceded in death by her parents,

Marvin and Birdie Curtis; her beloved husband, Berry Anderson; her devoted partner,

Roger Crossley; her brothers, David Curtis and Lee Curtis; her sister-in-law, Marianne

Curtis; and her sister-in-law, Cathy Anderson.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brandy Bennett and husband, Jeff; her

son, Michael Curtis Langley; her grandchildren, Alexandra Bennett, Colton Bennett

(fiancée Eevee Gearhart), Abrianna Bennett (partner Tylor Holaday), Lillie Hammond,

Kent Anderson, and Mary Anderson; her great-grandson, Wade Holaday; her sister Gail

Sloan and husband Tom; as well as many extended family members and dear friends

whose lives were enriched by knowing her and she held close to her heart.

A memorial service and family dinner celebrating Liz’s life will be held in the Texas Hill

Country in December. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
