DORIAN NORMAN CHAMP

Dorian Norman Champ was born December 8, 1988, in Shiprock, New Mexico, to Dallas Mills and Joseph Hatch. He then became the beloved adopted son of Thomas Edward and Heidi Jacobs Champ. He passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 35, surrounded by many angels.

Dorian was an avid lover of his dogs, tennis, rock & roll, and most importantly, his family and friends. His favorite times were spent at his family’s cabin on Fish Creek, singing AC/DC or Thin Lizzy on stage in Ireland as well as karaoke at Rick’s Bar & Grill, and showing no mercy on the tennis court. His huge heart made an imprint on everyone who crossed his path; to know Dorian was to love him.

Surviving Dorian are his parents, Tom and Heidi Champ of Cortez, Colorado; sister, Jennifer Champ, brother-in-law, Brian Murphy, nephew, Thomas Fillingham and his partner, Savannah Hatfield, all of Gunnison, Colorado; cousin Jimmy Coup of Dublin, Ireland & the hill country of Texas; as well as biological siblings Vicki Root Laner, Devin Mills, and Delphine Hatch.

A celebration of life for Dorian will be held at 11:00 am on one of his favorite holidays, St. Patrick’s Day - Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Cortez Rec Center. All who loved Dorian are welcome to join; potluck dishes are welcome but not necessary.
