Graveside services for Cortez resident Donna June Steerman will be held at Cortez Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on November 2, 2026. Services will be officiated by Pastor Bruce Burkett of Lighthouse Baptist Church, that Donna attended for many years.

Donna was born October 24, 1950 in Palisade, CO the daughter of Donald Arthur and Barbara June (Howard)Rants. Donna passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.

Donna was a housewife and mother whose main hobby was cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed caring for her 3 pets (2 dogs and 1 cat). She met and married Teddy Steerman of Cortez, who was the love of her life.

Surviving Donna are her children, Dephine Sanchez of Aurora CO. and Devon Whiskers of Denver CO. Her grandchildren, Aydin Steerman of Cortez, CO; Dillon Taphoya and Anthony Taphoya both of Mancos, CO. Her siblings: Ruth Hover (Glen) of Cortez CO; Wanda Holsey (Jim) of Montrose CO; and Arthur Rants of Cortez CO.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband; Teddy Steerman and her parents; Donald and Barbara Rants of Cortez, CO.
