DONALD EUGENE COOPER A memorial service for longtime Cortez resident Donald Eugene Cooper will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at the Cortez American Legion. Military honors will be provided by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Don was born June 30, 1942 in Pueblo, Colo. the son of Forest William and Florence Louise (Dennis) Cooper. He passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his residence at the age of 73. Don was a member of the American Legion and the Over the Hill Car Club. He enjoyed driving his dune buggy and 4-wheeling. Don spent his free time watching baseball, fishing, playing on his computer and listening to music. He was an avid gun collector and liked to watch movies. Surviving Don are his daughters, Terri L. Hoffman (Bobby) of Denver, Colo., Ellen L. Williamson (Ron) of Cortez, and Gena M. Linton (Glenn) of Cortez; and by nine grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
