Dieter Edmund Strangl, age 67, of Dolores, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on March 15, 2023. Beloved and adored husband for 28 years to Marjorie (nee Worth). Dieter was preceded in death by his parents, Erich (Maria) Strangl, Hannelore (Hans) Pesold and father-in-law, Leonard Worth.

He is survived by his mother-in-law, Nancie Worth, sister-in-law, Terry (Scott) Sigman and brother-in-law, Robert Worth; his dear friend and sister-in-law Julie (Paul) Snow, and his step-brother Dieter (Jodi) Pesold. Great Uncle to Alexander and Ethan Baumruck, and Joseph Schwartz.

Born in Munich, Germany on January 1, 1956, he moved to the United States in 1968 but remained a lifelong fan of his hometown soccer team, Bayern Munchen. He later attended Southwest Missouri State University on a soccer scholarship and coached a junior girls soccer team. He was a graduate with a BS degree in Business Management from Northeastern Illinois University. He worked in the telecommunications industry from 1988 until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, camping, spending time with his wife, dogs and watching sports. Dieter loved his leonbergers and pampered his boys Moxl, Fritzl, Sigi, Franzl, Willie and Seppl with decadent treat plates.

Dieter was a sports fanatic. He had a complicated love-hate relationship with the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He has been described by family, friends and co-workers as a generous, smart, colorful, sweet, gentle giant, with a great laugh and a big heart to match. He was loud and fun to be around, and lived life to the fullest.
