Mabel Colleen
Smith
Nov 22, 1933 — Oct 12, 2026
Cortez
Colleen Smith of Dolores, Colorado went to glory peacefully on October 12, 2026, just shy of her 93rd birthday on November 23. Colleen was very dedicated to her loved ones including her son Mike (Barb) and grandchildren, Dakota, Sydney, and Chandler Kay Smith, and her siblings Alton Jackson (Lisa) and Eudell Votroubek. Colleen grew up in Pyote, Texas where she earned a state championship in tennis. Shortly after she met her beloved husband, Billy Ray Smith in 1952. They spent 68 wonderful years together before Billy passed. Colleen’s parents Dorris and Andrew Jackson proceeded her in death, as well as her siblings Jerry, Paula, Joyce, and Arthur. Colleen was loved and admired by everyone, including her church family at Dolores Southern Baptist Church and was extremely dedicated to the Women’s Missionary Union of Colorado which she served many years as well as serving at the national level. Colleen spent her entire life serving the Lord Jesus bringing others to know Him. She always dedicated her time to Vacation Bible School and missionary trips. When Colleen was asked when she made her decision to serve the Lord as her Savior, she would say “every day!” Colleen had a very distinct and contagious laugh, and you could not help but join in. She leaves her legacy with many friends, nieces and nephews. Colleen will always be in our hearts. A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2027.
