Chloris Marie Cox Coppinger passed away November 6th, 2022, at Vista Mesa Assisted Living at the age of 102. She was born in Lincoln, Kansas June 13th, 1920. The family moved to Arriola, Colorado 1938. Her father owned and operated a cleaning shop in Cortez. Chloris attended school in Cortez through the 11th grade. She transferred to Glendale, California her senior year living with her Uncle Jack and Aunt Lavenia. Chloris married Hurschel Coppinger in Las Vegas, Nevada May 3rd, 1942. They were married for 70 years.
Chloris was always good with numbers. She worked at several local banks and as a bookkeeper at Keesee Motors and the City of Cortez. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping in their RV with the family at Lake Powell.
She is survived by her son, Gene Coppinger (Mary Ellen), grandson Shane Coppinger (Nora), granddaughter Kendra Marin Carroll (Jeff), granddaughter Susan Coppinger Holland (Brett), five great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents Maude and Tom Cox, siblings: Gene Cox (Jeannie), DeLoris Tozer (Gene), Doreen Livingston (George), husband Hurschel Coppinger, daughter Suzanne Martin (Kenny), grandchildren Greg Martin and Meagan Coppinger.
