Charles Edward Schmidt, 92, of Dolores, Colorado. Passed away on 12 Jul 2025 in Mancos, Colorado.

Born on 19 Dec 1932 in Floresville, Texas, Charles was the Son of Henrie Schmidt and Frieda Wagenfuer.

Charles Graduated from Floresville High School in 1950, where he enjoyed playing 2nd Trumpet in the marching HS Band. After HS, Charles enlisted in the Airforce and performed Military Police duties. During his enlistment he spent some time deployed to Korea during the Korean War.

He later graduated from College with A Bachelor of Science degree in Business. During his college years Charles attended several colleges including the University of Texas.

After college Charles worked as an insurance salesman for some time. His main occupation was working as a Federal Civil servant performing security duties for the military. He stayed with the Federal Civil service until his retirement.

Charles enjoyed fishing, gardening, and loved his dogs – Cookie number 1 and Cookie number 2 and each of his Ford Trucks over the years.

Charles was a devoted Christian.

Charles is survived in life by his Wife Esther Marie Schmidt, his son Travis Schmidt, His granddaughters Kieley Diane and Kaela Marie and his great grandchildren Zoey and Oliver and stepchildren Roxahne, Eric and Tamara.

A grave side service will be held at the Cortez Cemetery, on the 22nd of July at 11:00 am.
