Charles "Chaz" Luther Wade

Charles (Chaz) Luther Wade was born November 28, 1933 in Cortez, Colorado. He was the son of Elga Wade and Loretta Elizabeth Swank. He passed away at his home in Dolores, Colorado on July 17th at the age of 89 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

He went to school in McKenna in Yelm, Washington. He enjoyed fishing, prospecting, Razoring, camping, traveling, lobster and had a love for his horses.

Charles enlisted in the Marines as a truck driver from 1954 to 1956. He eventually met the love of his life (Sharon Watkins) when he and his police officer cousin pulled her over so Charles could ask her on a date. They married June 18, 1966 spending 57 years together. He spent many years in Alaska working construction as a proud member of the Operating Engineers and raising a family. After retiring, he moved his family back to Colorado and worked for Neilson's Construction in Montezuma County before retiring again.

Surviving Charles are his spouse, Sharon Wade of Dolores, CO; his children, Valiena Rosenkrance (Todd) of Dolores, CO, Valerie Weber of Houston, TX, Bill Wade (Linda) of Dolores, CO; his grandchildren, Talon Rosenkrance (Taylor) of Dolores, CO, Dillon Rosenkrance (Phoenix) of Belen, NM, Wyatt Wade (Cheyenne) of Franklin, NC; his sister Betty Florea of Roseburg, OR; his nieces Cynthia, Julie, and Deana; his nephew Hugh Wade; and numerous granddogs.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his son Rod Wade, and his brother Joe Wade.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Hospice of Montezuma for all their kind and loving care.
