It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Diane (Billings) Mathies of Cortez, Colorado. Carolyn passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community.

Born on April 27, 1950 in Ft Collins, CO, Carolyn lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and quiet strength. She made Cortez her home, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many through her caring spirit and willingness to help others. Whether spending time with loved ones, attending church, Bible Studies, and volunteering at First Baptist and then at Arriola Bible Church, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor, Carolyn found joy in life's simple blessings.

Carolyn will be remembered most for her warm smile, honest heart, and the love she shared so freely. Her wisdom, humor, and steadfast support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her beloved husband Walt, daughter Pamela, son-in-law Chris, grandchildren Geni, John and Abby, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be held on Monday July 13 at 10:00 at Arriola bible Church followed by lunch at the church then burial at the Cortez Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and share stories of the love and kindness she brought into their lives.

Though Carolyn is no longer with us in person, her love, compassion, and the countless memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
