BURT DUANE SWANK Funeral services for Cortez resident Burt Duane Swank will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 8 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Burt was born on August 14, 1958 in Cortez to Howart Duane and Betty Jean (Wood) Swank. He passed away at his home on December 3, 2011 at the age of 53. Burt enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. Surviving Burt are his mother, Betty Swank of Cortez; his daughter, Ashley Archuleta and husband, Chris of Virginia Beach, Va.; his granddaughter, Kamryn Archuleta; his sisters, Connie McGuire and husband, Mick of Cortez, and Charlotte Calhoun and husband, Clancy Calhoun Jr. of Aztec, N.M.; by his brother, Frank Swank of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Burt was preceded in death by his father, Howart Swank.
