Betty Jean Swank

Graveside services for Cortez resident Betty Jean Swank will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2022 at Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate.
Betty was born February 11, 1937 in Andrews, TX the daughter of William Holmes and Juanita (Loyd) Wood. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her residence at the age of 85.
Surviving Betty are her daughters, Charlotte Calhoun (Clancy) of Aztec, NM, Connie McGuire (Mick) of Cortez, CO; her brother, Jerry Wood (Marie) of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Tara McDonald (Don Orton) of Cortez, CO, Nicholas McDonald (Ginny) of Cortez, CO, Ashley Curling (James) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kelli Matajcich (Johnny) of Farmington, NM; and nine great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, H.D. “Tyke” Swank; her son, Burt Swank; her brother, Don Wood; and her grandson, Kevin Calhoun.
