Barbara Ann Follett-Pate beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug 15, 2026 in Cortez, Colorado, at the age of 83.

She was born on July 20th, 1943 in Grand Junction, CO, the daughter of Alma and Robert Wheatley. At the age of three, she moved to San Diego, CA where she lived the majority of her life until moving back to Colorado in 2024.

She married Lawrence (Larry) Follett in San Diego, CA in 1965. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendships, celebrations, challenges, and countless memories over the next 52 years. They raised their family, supported one another through the years, and created a home that became the heart of their family. When Larry passed away in 2017, she faced one of the most difficult chapters of her life. His death left a tremendous void, but she continued forward with the strength and resilience that had always been part of her character.

In time, life brought Barbara another unexpected gift. She married Porter Pate in 2020 and they shared 6 wonderful years together.. Their marriage brought new happiness and another chapter of love to her life. She embraced that chapter with the same warmth and appreciation with which she had lived her entire life.

Throughout Barbara’s life, she was known for her kindness, strength, generosity, faith, and devotion to family. She loved to travel and cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Patty (Jeff) Cleaveland, Rick (Kelly) Follett, and Sandy (Bryn) LePine, her husband Porter Pate, a sister Laura (Rob) Fitzgerald, five grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence Follett and her parents.
