Alfred Dean (Jock) Sanford Jr was born April 15, 1965 in Grand Junction Colorado to Alfred Dean Sanford Sr. and Rose Irene (Toni) Sanford. Jock passed away July 18, 2021 at his home in Dolores.
Jock grew up in Gateway Colorado and knew early on that his passion was driving and working on trucks. Jock spent 39 years driving trucks for various companies; most recently D&L Construction. For several years Jock put on the Mesa Verde Stampede Jr. Rodeo in Mancos, he always had a love for kids and horses.
Jock is survived by his partner, Bonny White; his mother, Rose Irene (Toni) Sanford; his brother, Clifford Sanford (Sandrea); his sisters, Shelly Ruiz (Lucio) and Jeannie Sanford; his children, William Coppinger (Emily), Megan Coppinger, Kami Phillips, Tylor Sanford-Show (Brianna), Jacob Collins (Breana), Mathew Sanford (Kenna), Mackenzie Sanford; six grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Dean Sanford Sr.
A family graveside service will be held in Fruita on Friday July 23, 2021, followed by a public Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday July 24, 2021 at D&L Construction 25716 Road L in Cortez. Friends and Family are invited to come share memories and a meal (main dish will be provided) please bring a side dish and your own beverage.
