ZADA KARON MERIWETHER HEATON Funeral services for Pleasant View resident Zada Karon Heaton will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 23 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery. David Sitton will officiate. Zada was born on June 22, 1912 in Meeker, Colo. the daughter of Milton Donaldson and Josephine Matilda (Wallace) Meriwether. She passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007 at her son’s residence at the age of 95. On August 29, 1930, Zada married Alton Parker Heaton. To this union were born Aleta Louise, William “Al”, and Emily Mae. Zada was a faithful member of the Cortez General Assembly Church of the First Born. Surviving Zada are her son, Al Heaton and wife, LaVonne of Cortez; her sisters, Etta Wooten of Whitewater, Colo., Ruth Taylor of Grand Junction, Colo.; her brother, Ray Meriwether of Golden Valley, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton; her daughters, Aleta Gray and Emily Beach; her brothers, George and Jim Meriwether; and her sister, Dorthy Terrill.
