Winborn L. "Windy Davis

January 8, 1937 — February 26, 2015

WINBORN L. (WINDY) DAVIS Windy was born in Houston, Tex. on January 8, 1937. He went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2015. He was 78 years old. His family was by his side as he passed peacefully in his sleep after an eleven year battle with cancer. There will be a memorial service for Windy on March 27 at 2 p.m. at the Mesa Trails Cowboy Church in Mancos. Paul Houston will be officiating. Windy was raised in Needles, Calif. until he was nine, when his family moved to Barstow, Calif. After he graduated from Barstow High School he returned to Needles and went to work for the AT & SF Railroad where he worked for 30 years. He and his wife of 50 years, Mary, met and married in 1964. They had one child together, a daughter, Darci was born in 1968. Windy had been married before and had three other children. A son, Glenn and daughters, Wendy and Debbie. Mary adopted Glenn and Wendy and raised them as her own. In 1984 the family moved to Mancos after Windy was injured on the railroad. He was an avid sportsman and loved it in this area. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Glenn (Diane) Davis of Washington; daughters, Darci (Mike) Warren of Durango, Wendy (Bob) Wallstead of California and Debi (Bob) Crosson of Oregon; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Glenn (Kathy) Holder of Houston, Tex.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding Windy in death are his birth father, Glenn Holder; adopted father, O'Dell Davis; step-father, Barney Keller; mother, Lavawn Keller; brother, Louis Davis; and one granddaughter, Tamara Wallstead. Windy was a good Christian man and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Montezuma in Windy's name.
