Walter William Winegar

WALTER WILLIAM WINEGAR Walter William Winegar was born on January 31, 1913 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Milton B. and Mary Elizabeth (Silver) Winegar. He passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Madison House at the age of 95. On July 22, 1933, Walt married Nanalee Powell. The couple would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this coming month. Walt was a charter member of the Cortez Elks Lodge was a past Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed time spent carving wood and working with leather. Walt loved sports. Surviving Walt are his loving wife, Nanalee Winegar of Cortez; and his children, Kay F. Bush of Albuquerque, N.M., and James W. Winegar of Glen Rose, Tex. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Richard Smith and wife, Linda of Cortez, Leslie Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Tracy Mitchell and husband, Fred of Mithlothiam, Tex., and Kristy Winegar of Plano, Tex.; four great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Ann Tipton of Charlotte, N.C. Walt was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Frances Plaskett, Henry Winegar, and Warren Winegar; and his son-in-law, Lloyd L. Bush. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
