VIRGINIA AGNES ROSENBAUGH Funeral services for Virginia Agnes Rosenbaugh, a longtime resident of Cortez will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Derrek D. Scott will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Friday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. A Prayer Vigil will be held Friday evening at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church beginning at 7:30 p.m. Virginia was born July 15, 1918 at Walsenburg, Colo. the daughter of Adolph Joseph and Virginia Marie (Agnes) Dissler. She passed away at her home in Cortez on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at the age 86. On Feb. 7, 1942, Virginia married George Glen Rosenbaugh in Walsenburg, Colo. To this union nine children were born. Prior to moving to Cortez in 1963, the Rosenbaugh family lived in Durango for three years. Virginia was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and belonged to the Catholic Daughters and the Alter and Rosary Society. For many years she was a registered nurse at Southwest Memorial Hospital and Vista Grande Nursing Home. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Montezuma and enjoyed visiting shut-ins. Surviving Virginia are her children, George “Tom” Rosenbaugh and wife, Ann of Moncks Corners, S.C., Ray Rosenbaugh and wife, Terri of Arvada, Colo., Ron Rosenbaugh of Cortez, Jim Rosenbaugh and wife, Mindy of Cortez, Charlie Rosenbaugh and wife, Denise of Cortez, Ginger Byers and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, N.M., Terry Rosenbaugh of Durango, Colo., Jerry Rosenbaugh and wife, Debbie of Westminster, Colo., and Don Rosenbaugh and wife, Kati of Littleton, Colo.; and 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her husband, George, preceded Virginia in death in June 1973; as did two brothers and 1 sister. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Virginia Rosenbaugh with Hospice of Montezuma, 1345 S. Broadway, Cortez, Colo.
