Viola Irene "Vi" Blanton

VIOLA IRENE "VI" BLANTON Memorial services for Cortez resident Viola Irene "Vi" Blanton will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Vi was born December 14, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Okla. the daughter of Wacho Jackson and Ethel (Bennett) Underwood. She passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her residence at the age of 92. While living in Ventura, Calif., Vi owned and operated two antique shops. She was a devoted member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Vi thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Breanna. Surviving Vi are her children, Gary Soza (Cagnie) of Cortez, Steve Soza (Peggy Gorham) of San Diego, Calif., Bobbie MacIntosh of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jim Baker of Washington, and John Baker of the Philippians; and by ten grandchildren. Vi was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter, Jillinda Bauer; and by her siblings, Glen Underwood, Iva Nixon and Ealeta Money.
