TOBY MICHAEL JONES Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Toby Michael Jones will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Toby was born the son of Ronald Lynn and Andrea Marie (Nittler) Jones on August 20, 1987 in Durango. He passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at his Dolores residence at the age of 20. Toby was a very happy and outgoing person who loved life. His love for the mountains made his job at Telluride Mountain Resort a great fit. Toby was a gondola operator at the resort. He was a talented artist that enjoyed time spent snowboarding and rock climbing. Surviving Toby are his loving mother, Andi Stevens of Cortez; his special friend, Lillian Sprague; and his siblings, Kelton and MacKenzie Stevens of Cortez. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Bill and Sally Nittler of Belen, N.M., Charlotte Jones of Cortez, Lynn Jones of Alaska, and Clyde Larsen of Cortez; his aunts and uncles, Lavena Snyder and husband, Darrel of Cortez, Tammy Hettchen and husband, Bob of Rawlings, Wyo., Robin Nittler of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Jen Nittler of Cortez, Matt Nittler and wife, Brandy of Elkton, Ken., Lesley Nittler and husband, Greg Davis of Mead, Colo., and Ethan Nittler and wife, Kim of Stevensville, Mont.; his cousins, Kris and Kimberly Nittler of Cortez; and numerous cousins and friends.
