Theodore Kent Schmitt

Kent Schmitt was born on February 1, 1929 in Liberal, Kansas to Joseph H. and Hazel E. (Smith) Schmitt. He died on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his residence in Cortez, Co at the age of 90.
Kent is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris; sons, Robert (Lynette) of Grants, NM, Tim (Diane) of Dolores, CO, Gerald (Diane) of Hesperus, CO, Joe (Terrill) of Dolores, CO, Jon (Jayne) of Keystone, NE; one daughter, Shirley (Phil) Kasper of Dolores, CO; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by one brother, Norman or Phoenix, AZ. Kent was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Orlo; and his grandson, Troy Kent Schmitt.
Kent trusted the Lord Jesus Christ and his Savior at a young age and rejoiced in Him all his life. His chief goal in life was that his children also know Christ as Savior and their children after them. He was devoted to his family and loved his life of farming and ranching.
His family rejoices in the knowledge that Kent is now “with Christ, which is better.”
