Sylvia Jean "Jeanne" Cox

SYLVIA “JEANNE” BERARDI COX Funeral services for former Cortez resident, Sylvia “Jeanne” Cox will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 24 at the Cortez Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Jeanne was born on February 29, 1924 in Florence, Colo. the daughter of Stephen and Nancy (McLoney) Berardi. She passed away on Friday, March 18, 2005 at her home in Boerne, Tex. at the age of 81. Jeanne was a school teacher and a mother of two. She is survived by her children, Jody Kuykendall of Boerne, Tex., and Tom Cox of Cortez. She leaves two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Norma of Snowflake, Ariz. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Thomas Eugene Cox. Memorial contributions can be made in Jeanne’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma at P.O. Drawer 740, Cortez, CO 81321; or to the American Cancer Society.
