SYLVIA DORA ESPINOZA A memorial Funeral Mass will be held for Sylvia Dora Espinoza, a longtime Cortez resident, at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Sylvia was born April 7, 1955 in Durango, Colo. the daughter of Abe and Cordelia (Herrera) Vigil. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the age of 55. Surviving Sylvia are her children, Anthony Espinoza and wife, Timber of Cortez and Valerie Espinoza also of Cortez; by six grandchildren; and by her siblings, Vickie Rubacaba and husband, Joe of Cove, Ariz., Tom Vigil and wife, Lorraine of Durango, Colo., Darlene Padilla and husband, Joe of Farmington, N.M., Gary Vigil of Farmington, N.M., Irene Vigil of Grand Junction, Colo., and Alvin Vigil and wife, Bernadette of Farmington, N.M.; and by her half-brother, George Vigil of Utah. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Valois John Espinoza; her son, Joseph Valois Espinoza; and by a brother, Ricky Vigil.
