December 30, 1963 — January 25, 2008

SUZAN M. (WAGENFEHR) CRAIG GREEFKENS Funeral services for Mancos resident Suzan M. (Wagenfehr) Craig Greefkens will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 1 at Lifeway Baptist Church. Cremation will follow the funeral. Suzan was born on December 30, 1963 in Flagstaff, Ariz. the daughter of Robert and Cathy (Woods) Wagenfehr. She passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 in Montrose County at the age of 44. Suzan had an extensive academic career, attending schools in Albuquerque, NM, and Blue Ridge High School in Pinetop, AZ. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with degrees in Biology, Anthropology, and Education, but dance was always her passion. Suzan worked in many capacities throughout her life devoted to education and creative expression, bringing together people's need for dance, music, the outdoors, and community. She worked vigorously to integrate many areas of education for children and the public, feeling that the most integral parts of ritual, history, and dance needed to be passed on to the world around her. She received awards for educational program development at the Anasazi Heritage Center Museum in Cortez, CO, educational websites at NAU, and for coordinating cultural and dance events in Flagstaff, AZ. She was a dedicated educator, river runner, outdoorswoman, and mother. Her vibrant passion to live fully in the world influenced all those around her. Her family and friends will remember her best for her spontaneity over potlucks, music, campouts, river running, and of course any opportunity to dance. Surviving Suzan are her husband her husband, John Greefkens of Mancos; her son, Kegan Azul Craig of Mancos; her step-daughter, Sarah Greefkens; her parents, Robert and Cathy Wagenfehr of Glendale, Ariz., her brothers, Tyler Von Wagenfehr and wife, Lee of Pinetop, Ariz., Robert O. Wagenfehr Jr. and wife, Raquel of Waddell, Ariz.; three nieces; and numerous friends and relatives. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Suzan M. Greefkens Memorial Fund at Dolores State Bank, 744 E. Main Street, Cortez, Colo. 81321, to assist with her son's educational fund.
