SUSAN MAHEW BLAIR Memorial services for Mancos resident Susan Mahew Blair will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 30 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate. The daughter of Donald and Mary Mahew (Smith) Blair, Susan was born on November 20, 1955 in Victor, N.Y. She passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 52. Susan married Valden Johnson on September 5, 1985 in Shiprock, N.M. The couple would have celebrated their 23rd anniversary next month. Having received her Masters in Public Health, Susan valued education. She was an active member of Dare To Be You and its affiliates. Susan's passions in life were horse training and breeding. Horses brought her life much joy. Susan also enjoyed time spent working in her garden. Surviving Susan are her loving husband, Valden Johnson of Mancos; her daughters, Alexandra and Aimee Johnson of Mancos; and her siblings, Sara Stilson of Mancos, Caroline Kalish and husband, Andy of New York, N.Y, and Nancy Blair and husband, Paul of Temecula, Calif. Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
