SHIRLEY JEAN FAIRBANKS A memorial service for longtime Cortez resident, Shirley Jean Fairbanks will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 8 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Shirley was born April 23, 1935 in Tuskegee, Okla. the daughter of Elen and Opal Marcella (Gower) Cullum. She passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at her residence at the age of 82. Surviving Shirley are her husband, Vaughn D. Fairbanks of Cortez; her daughters, Gail Coakley (Randy) of Queen Creek, Ariz., Jennifer Stewart (Jeff) of Cortez, and Kathy Greenemeir (John) of Cortez; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Donna McCorkle (Mac) of Columbus, Ohio. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; by her step-father, Leroy Isley; and by her son, Jimmy Duane Fairbanks. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirleys name to Hospice of Montezuma.
