SARAH EMALINE HONEY Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident Sarah Emaline Honey will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pastor David Ramsey will officiate. A visitation has been scheduled for Monday morning from 9 a.m. to service time. Sarah was born on August 10, 1926 in Mancos the daughter of Jefferson Davis and Nora Ellen (Sheek) Baker. She passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 81. On September 8, 1945, Sarah married Thomas Charles Honey in Aztec, N.M. Sarah loved to yodel and sing. She enjoyed making stone jewelry and was talented at embroidery work. Surviving Sarah are her daughters, Shirley Hamblin and husband, Wayne of Mancos, Karen Pilcher and husband, Oren of Mancos, and Linda Miller and husband, Mike of Rathdurm, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Robert Martinez of Santa Fe, N.M.; her aunt who raised Sarah like her own daughter, Lois Humiston of Mancos; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Honey; and her daughter, Wanda Martinez.
