RUTH FREDA ELSIE HOURIHAN Funeral Mass for Cortez resident Ruth Freda Elsie Hourihan will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Phoenix, Ariz. Interment will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Ruth was born on February 2, 1910 in Blue Island, Ill. the daughter of John and Louise (Ashbrenner) Appenbrink. She passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 100. Surviving Ruth are her children, Gerry Marler of Cortez, Bob Hourihan of Dallas, Tex., Patsy McGinnis of Tonto Basin, Ariz., and Cheryl Lostracco of Phoenix, Ariz.; her granddaughter, Kathi Marler of Cortez; her great-grandchildren, Christina Tillia of Aztec, N.M. and Clay Tillie of Cortez; and several out-of-town grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, John J. Hourihan; and by her children, Jackie Hourihan, James Hourihan, and Ruth Banville.
