RUSSELL JACK KUHN Weather permitting, funeral services for longtime Silverton resident, Russell Jack Kuhn will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 27 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Silverton. Russ was born on March 22, 1921 in Bloomington, Ill. to William 'Bill' and Martha (Stark) Kuhn. He passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the Colorado State Veterans Center in Homelake, Colo. Russ was 82 years old. A United States Military Veteran, Russ maintained his membership with the V.F.W. and the American Legion. In the 1940's Russ moved to Silverton where he worked as a miner. His job allowed him to travel all over the country. At one time he worked as a mining consultant on an underground missile project in Texas. Outside of work, Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening singing and dancing. He will always be remembered as a very warm, fun person who had a wonderful charisma. Surviving Russ is his very dear friend, Catherine Lichliter. Preceding him in death are his parents. Memorial contributions can be made in Russ' memory to the Silverton American Legion. Services are under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home.
