Robert Henry 'Bob' Breedlove Jr.

April 16, 1937 — August 5, 2021

ROBERT H BREEDLOVE

Robert was born on April 16, 1937 and grew up in Memphis, Texas. After graduation from high school, he headed to Kansas to attend the school of his choice, Kansas University. He managed to find a job in the machine shop in the radiation lab to finance his studies. He also joined the ROTC to help his financial situation.

In September 1958, a new graduate student, Linda Williams, was exploring the campus for the first time and stopped by the radiation lab. Robert invited her in and then invited her to the football game that weekend. In October, he gave her his frat pin; in November, he gave her an engagement ring; and on December 20 1958, they were married.

Riding home one evening, Linda reported that they had nothing to eat at home and payday was another day away. Did he have any money? “A dime,” he replied. “Great,” she answered, “We can buy a box of mac and cheese.” He promptly turned into a Dairy Queen, went in and returned with two vanilla cones. “I wanted ice cream,” he stated. Robert liked being in charge and making decisions.

In his own words, he will summarize his career:

“I have served as Chairman of the Board, President, or Vice President over the last forty-five years for six high-tech corporations of which I was a principal founder. I have also served on the board for eight other corporations.

“I have advanced degrees in physics and math, hold six patents, and have taken to market more than a hundred scientific instruments. Honors include Sigma Pi Sigma, alumni citation for outstanding business career in 1987, Who’s Who Worldwide in 1992. I was a commissioned officer in the United States Army with the rank of captain. During which time I held a troop command and was a member of the faculty at the Army Chemical Center School.

“RHB Laboratories, which provides services and equipment to its semiconductor and medical clients worldwide, was transported from California to the Dove Creek area in April of 1996.”

He died on August 5, 2021.
