ROBERT DAYTON "BOB" TEECE SR. Robert Dayton "Bob" Teece Sr. was born August 22, 1920 in Kewanee, Ill. the son of Robert Dayton and Vera May (Peterson) Teece. He passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Residence in Cortez. Bob was 93. On September 21, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wis., Bob married the love of his life, Florence A. Anderson. They were able to share more than 70 years of marriage together. From 1944-1946, Bob served in the Navy as an Aviation Electronic Technician's Mate 2/C. Bob graduated from the University of Illinois with a Mechanical Engineer degree and received an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was named "Distinguished Alumnus" of the University of Illinois. A long and distinguished career, Bob had 48 years of experience in heavy machinery business serving international markets. He served as Vice President of Engineering and Executive Vice President with Harnischfeger Corporation of Milwaukee, Wis., President and CEO with PACECO, Inc. of Gulfport, Miss. a subsidiary of Fruehauf Corporation, Owner and CEO of ACME Management Consultants of Milwaukee, Wis. and Gulfport, Miss., and Chairman of the Board and Senior Executive Consultant of Coast Engineering and Manufacturing Company. He also served as Chairman of the Board for Seren Machine Products, Inc. of Schiller Park, Ill., ACME Engineering of Milwaukee, Wis., and Control Logic of Natick, Mass. Bob retired from Harnischfeger Corporation in 1982 after 42 years. Being active in several organizations, Bob was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Metals, and American Management Association. He was a Professional Engineer and served on the Board of Regents for the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Bob also was a member of the Board of Directors of the following companies: Harnischfeger Corporation, of Milwaukee, Wis., Koerper Engineering Associates of Milwaukee, Wis., Seren Machine Products, Inc. of Schilller Park, Ill., ACME Engineering of Milwaukee, Wis., Control Logic, Inc. of Natick, Mass., and Gentili Brighi, SpA, Milan, Italy. Not only was Bob involved in organizations associated with his work, he also served on several condominium and home owners associations. They include Squires Grove Homeowners and Condominium Association of Elm Grove, Wis., Baileys Harbor Condominium Association of Baileys Harbor, Wis. as a Director and President, Purves Lagoon Homeowners Association of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. as a Director, Secretary and Treasurer, Pelican Cay Condominium Association of Biloxi, Miss. as a Director and President, and Sandpiper Condominium Association of Marco Island as a Director, Vice President, and President. Whether an owner of a large corporation, a CEO, a waitress, a housekeeper, flight attendant, pilot, doctor, nurse or anyone in between and whether people agreed with his views or not, Bob always treated them with fairness and respect and in return he always earned their respect. Bob touched the hearts of so many and will always be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor and for always being a "gentleman". Bob is survived by his wife, Florence Teece of Cortez; his sons, Dennis Teece and wife, Janice of Mancos; Douglas Teece and wife, Liz of Saint Peters, Mo.; and Robert Teece Jr. and wife, Sonja of Trout Creek, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vera Teece; and his brother, Thomas Teece. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
