Robert Archibeque

RICHARD “ROBERT” ARCHIBEQUE Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Robert Archibeque will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 12 at the Evangel Assembly of God Church. Robert was born on September 15, 1952 in Cortez the son of Mike and Carmelita (Gallegos) Archibeque. He passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at his residence at the age of 57. Robert graduated from Montezuma Cortez High School in 1970 and went on to join the United States Army. After his discharge, Robert came back to the Cortez area and spent many years working with his father in the family paint and drywall business. Robert and Mike painted many buildings in Cortez. An animal lover at heart, Robert was known to always have a dog as his companion. Surviving Robert are his parents, Mike and Carmelita Archibeque of Cortez; his sisters, Brenda Maez and husband, Bennie of Aurora, Colo. and Marina Fresquez and husband, Emmett of Cortez; numerous nieces and nephews; and a group of close friends. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Archibeque. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740 Cortez, Colo. 81321.
