Renate Alice Mccabe

RENATE ALICE MCCABE

Renate Alice Fix was born on March 1, 1937 to Martha and Eugene Fix in Pforzheim, Germany. She entered Heaven’s Gate on September 9, 2022 in Cahone, Colo. with family at her side.

Renate was one tough lady, a classy lady. She survived war-torn Germany (1939-1945) and the Cold War until moving to Sturgis, S.D. in 1960. She was a very special mother, wife, grandmother and friend who touched so many lives with unbelievable stories and enough wonderful memories to last a lifetime. Renate had a keen eye for business and was the owner/operator of two hospitality businesses in the Grants, N.M. area.

Renate is survived by her son, Anthony Will and his wife, Maria; her daughter, Tammy Ryan; her step-son, Russ McCabe and his wife, Karen; her step-daughter, Paulette Brito and her husband, Rogelio; and by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Renate was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate of 45 years, Herman “Ray” McCabe.
